TYPES OF LEARNING FORMATS - 3 format to choose from

Live Seminars:
Student come to the seminar location to interact with the instructor.  The manual [50 pages] & course material is emailed to you 1 week prior to the seminar.  You will be asked to print out and bring with you.

Live Online Seminar:
Student watches seminar from their computer either at home/work at the exact same time a Live seminar is being held in Raleigh, NC. You will be able to chat live with the instructor and watch all interaction between instructor and students.  It is the next best thing to attending a live seminar.  The seminar is - streamed live over your internet connection.  No special computer skill is needed.  A webpage link will be sent to you prior to the seminar that you will click on to see the video screen.  If you have dial up, a slow internet connection, or attempting to watch on a cell phone or ipad this format would not be appropriate.  We also suggest you check to make sure your speakers are working.  Simply go to www.youtube.com and click on any video.  If you can hear it loud and clear then you are good to go.  If you can hear it, but the volume is low, we suggest you purchase some external speakers from a retailer store like Walmart, Best Buy, Staples - for about $20.

All course material is sent to you via an email 1 week prior to the seminar.

Home Study Course:
This format is a Live Seminar that has been videotaped that you can watch anytime from the internet.  This format is on the internet and is NOT a DVD or CD.  You must have a high speed dial up connection.  This small video you can click on to see if you have a high enough internet connection to view the home study.  Of course the home study videos are much larger than the one below.  The real videos take up almost 1/2 the page and are very easy to see.

All course material is sent to you via an email 1 week prior to the seminar.

OVERVIEW of TMR 2

Total Motion Release – Level 2 will teach & provide extensive lab time for the therapist to learn the intermediate TMR Exercises Progressions of taking static body posiitons into motion through space, incorporate the method into athletics, plyometrics and learn how to modify the program to be used in a variety of current physical therapy techniques.  In addition, therapist will learn the importance of getting rid of "jerk" tenderpoints to facilitate healing.  Lastly will be taught intermediate techniques of handling patient objections and obstacles they may run into.

Upon completion of TMR – 2 the participant will understand how to use the Total Motion Release in any rehab setting dealing with physical pain and physical limitations, except wound care.  They will leave with a confidence of being able to handle more effectively the complex condition and better handle the complex patient.

COURSE OUTLINE

  • Review the FAB 4 Form & Rules to Wellness
  • Review the Freedom Form
  • Review Tweaks
  • Learn how to take a motion and flow into a full body movement pattern
  • Learn how to take a full body movement and speed it up.
  • Learn how to use the TMR philosophy to make an individual ambidextrous.
  • Learn how to use the TMR concept for athletics, plyometrics, yoga, and other fitness areas
  • Learn how to use TMR to speed up your current therapy techniques.
  • Learn the importance of getting rid of tenderpoints that elicit a jerk response
  • Review the Current TMR Theories and learn a few physics equations that support the concept
  • Review & Progress - the processes to improve patient compliance.
  • Learn the Decision Scale to help "get patients" to understand why they do what they do and use this scale to better use the therapist to help aide them better in their pain relief efforts

GOALS & OBJECTIVES - at the end of the course the student will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate your pre-course understanding of how to fill out the FAB 4 form.
  2. Demonstrate your pre-course understanding of how to fill out the Freedom Form
  3. Demonstrate your pre-course understanding of the 5 tweaks using either the FAB 4 or Freedom 4
  4. List the 5 tweaks taught in TMR 1
  5. List the 3 additional Tweaks added during TMR 2 to speed up results
  6. Compare when you might use these different tweaks versus when you may not
  7. Define the Issue Equation
  8. Discuss why just doing motions may not be enough to bring about healing.
  9. Evaluate your own use of the Issue Equation for the amount of time you've spent teaching positioning to your patients.
  10. Design a session to show a baseball pitcher how he might improve his non-dominate hand throwing strength.  Write it down.
  11. Explain the formula P=F/A as how it relates to pain relief
  12. Explain how the body is constantly trying to stay in equilibrium as it relates to pain [T=N]
  13. Demonstrate how TMR speeds up the results for Mobilizations, the McKenzie Method, weight lifting strength & flexibility
  14. Demonstrate how to get rid of a tenderpoint that elicits a jerk response
  15. Demonstrate taking a person from 3 D motion for a joint, into 3 D motion for a body area into 3 D motion for multiple body areas simultaneously.  And finally into the allowing of the body to flow into comfort positions through space.
  16. Demonstrate the search and destroy process of pinpointing when a pain turns on by thinking of a patient scenario and role playing it out on paper.
  17. Demonstrate the use of the Decision Scale by thinking of a scenario of a patient who is not being compliant and role play on paper what your discussion would be to increase their compliance.
