I did a free consultation on a local H.S. swimmer w/severe left RC tendonitis. Her mom is an O.T. After one minute of working the right arm (abd. w/5 lbs.) 2 sets of 12, she was able to raise her arm to 170 degrees with pain down from 9 to 1. The mom needed a doctor's note for her daughter to return to swimming. I called the doctor's receptionist and told her what I had done. She called back 20 minutes later and said the doctor (whom I've known for years) wanted to see me. Two days later, I saw the doctor and explained how TMR works, but of course he was skeptical. He had a patient in a room with the beginnings of frozen shoulder and I asked if I could try something with her, and he agreed. As I asked her to begin her second set of a 20 second arm raise with her good arm, she gave the doctor a look as if to say, "Who is this guy and what the heck is he doing with the wrong arm?" Anyway, she was then able to lift her affected side approximately 20 degrees higher and with much greater ease. The look on the surgeon's face was priceless as he said, "I'm not sure what I just saw here." I told him that I see this kind of thing every day. The frozen shoulder lady is now my patient and after two visits is doing extremely well and is one of the best patients I've had with regard to doing her homework.

Good stuff!!

Ok - that is awesome. Way to go Dan! Seeing is believing, but seeing in front of your surgeon is even better.
