The obvious answer is to try it. Just wondering if anyone has used TMR as a basis for treatment of BP.

hey-it's somewhere on here-maryanne in tn used it with great success (cant remember how she listed it on the board)...all i remember is an arm raise and maybe one other motion helped?
i had a lady who had some weakness squinting her eye after a mild stroke-had her squint the heck out of the other eye several times and she could squeeze the weak one just as well (she enjoyed that)

Yep - a couple therapists have emailed me with their success using it on Bell's Palsy. My PTA I believe used it on her Mother who presented with BP and she too did very well.

ok-message board p 3, was actually my question and had response by maryannintn
my pt never did continue (had new baby-mom in town from japan and rtw-sent her mom to me though) so didnt convince her to work with me on her lower face paralysis (not one sided-just bottom half, kinda odd)
and my friend never did try any of the suggestions to work the good (we are friends but not 'close' to where i would call and hound her on this) and still has some weakness in closing her left eye and lifting her smile left side this far out
anyhoo-hope what maryannintn says helps and come on just try it, duh :D

TNXXX...I didn't do any of the FAB 5 on her but did have her try some opposite facial moves. Didn't see any changes in sitting but some "trace" movements in supine...I'll be "playing" next week...and keep you folks posted.

Ok...been playing. Didn't get a big response w/Fab 5. Got some trace responses with the arm raises and twists more so than the others.

So did a lot more of the opposite face moves...working pretty good. Had her really wrinkle up her nose and squeeze her good side tight for 3 reps 15-20 seconds...then try again on the other side. Heck it was working. Did the same with smiling. Then had her give the good side resistance using her fingers and got a "bigger" response.

She's not totally there but appears to be very compliant...don't blame her!!
