I have been seeing a patient who was diagnosed and treated for CIDP years ago. He came with huge LE weakness, L > R. He was a person who could never tella difference side to side. So I moved to the total gym and had him perform a standing rotation moving my weight as I sat on the platfomr. He needed CTG A for balance, but after 2 sets of 10, he was able to ascend an 8 inch step leading with his L LE. He has not done that in more than 2 years. I also had him to ivv/ever on BAPS on his good leg because he told me he lacks ankle stablility (which he does). His weaker ankle is now able to actively open chair and closed chain eccentrically control inv/ever. He also notes the gait deviation on his good leg that used to turn out is getting better! He is hooked- as am I. Before TMR I would have spent forever strengthening this guy and I know it would nothave worked worth beans- and both of us would have been deflated! Love TMR!
