Does anyone have any gems when ot comes to improving terminal knee extension in patients s/p total knee replacement. I have tried to positions per the protocol, but not much luck? Wondering if anyone has found any secrets besides progressing the positions away from the standard position?

See the video in More Free Video Section. You will see a man 7 months post who was not getting end range extension. We worked the STS hard and he did a whole lot better. we also did the other exercises hard too. Don't forget - follow the form and do not move on until you have gotten all from the exercise you can, and once this occurs, do it more reps or longer duration to see if that gets you more and then move on. Follow the form and record data and it will lead you where to go. Call me please and I can help out more

Try Quad sets on the opposite knee. I have found it to be successful. Hold for 15-20 sec. 10 reps 2x or try knee extension mobs on opposite leg also. Let me know if it works.

TKE,...This is a common obstacle....even with traditional manual therapy. The thing I used to use with the best results is the Maitland mob for terminal knee extension. NOW, I just do it to the 'good knee'. quad sets on good side also help maintain the ROM gains.
