Has anyone had experience using TMR with spinal cord injuries? My 21 yo son sustained a T7 paralysis 2 wks ago along with 8 fractured ribs, fractured sternum and scalulae. He had 7-8/10 back pain and headaches even with a ton of pain meds. He will be transferred to the Shepherd Center in Atlanta this weekend and I was hoping to find a therapist who is willing to try it. As his mother, I have to remove myself from the physical therapist role. Thank you.

i am so sorry that your son has had to enounter this....i wish i could be more helpful, i am in athens ga but have not had any direct experience using tmr with people who have experienced spinal cord injuries....i think that mickey would be an excellent resource for you at this time as well as any other therapists who work with the more neurologically involved pts....i would suggest simple positioning for comfort at this time: arms positioned in any of the most better ways (ir by side, er out to side, ovhd supported)as well as positioning the lower body in the most better way (lower trunk rotation to one side vs the other? looser leg for lr propped up on pillows higher than the other) even allowing the upper torso to be propped with pillows such that he may be rotated more to the looser side.....i hope any of that may help, and i am sure there are many others who can respond with much more experience than i have, jen
